Made and Rinin – Owners of Dukuh Village Homestay

Dukuh VIllage Homestay and Villas is part of a charming Balinese compound just outside a small village 6 kms north of Ubud, central Bali. Surrounded by green rice terraces and forest, it is run by I Made Arka, a fine Balinese artist, and his wife Rinin.

This is a traditional family home, so guests can feel they are in the ‘real Bali’, with the daily round of ritual offerings, tending the land and extended family activities going on all around- while also enjoying privacy and the company of a small number of other guests. Rinin can share her skills in Balinese cooking and how to make traditional Balinese offerings. Made is an experienced and well regarded teacher of Balinese art and culture, who can offer painting and drawing classes, as as well as market trips, morning walks, tours to Tegallalang rice terraces and the many other wonderful sights in the local area and beyond.

All rooms have modern bathrooms with hot water, and access to a kitchen for simple self catering. There is wifi throughout the property and a communal terrace with books and DVDs. We can advise travellers about the many other activities around Ubud such as Indonesian language teachers,  galleries, Balinese dance shows and ceremonies.
